Grass Roots Rescue to host fundraising gala March 23

At CHEER Community Center in Georgetown
February 21, 2019

Grass Roots Rescue, a southern Delaware-based animal rescue, will hold its inaugural fundraising gala, Heels & Hooch, at 6 p.m., Saturday, March 23, at the CHEER Community Center in Georgetown.

The event will include hors d’oeuvres, dinner, dancing, silent and live auctions, and a wine wall. DJ Greg Breeding and Boardwalk Entertainment will provide music to help attendees dance the night away. Beer and wine will be available for purchase along with a choice of three signature drinks created just for this event by Grass Roots Rescue’s dedicated volunteers.

Since the rescue’s inception in 2013, more than 1,300 dogs, cats, and various other animals have been saved from overstuffed kill shelters, hoarding situations and abusive homes, with nearly all them being adopted by loving families throughout Delmarva.

Grass Roots is also known for taking in hospice animals and animals with severe medical cases in hopes of providing them with better lives.

“We are so excited to host our inaugural Heels & Hooch gala,” said Karli Crenshaw, Grass Roots Rescue founder and president. “We have so many animals in need right now, and we truly hope the funds raised from this event will allow us to not only continue but increase our ability to help the animals in our community.”

Grass Roots Rescue is a Delaware-based, all-volunteer, 501c3 nonprofit group that saves dogs, cats and other animals that are at risk in shelters and within the community. Its primary objective is to increase the quality of life for all animals through rescue, outreach and education. Grass Roots is solely a foster-based rescue that relies on the generous donations of local community members to continue its purpose of saving as many animals as possible.

Tickets are $55 per person or $100 per couple. Cocktail attire is recommended.

Sponsorship opportunities are also available.
