After conferring with Accuweather meteorologists Friday afternoon, Lewes Christmas Parade officials have decided to go ahead with the parade as planned for Saturday, Dec. 1.
For the Lewes area, Accuweather expects a dry Saturday morning followed by possible light rain in the afternoon and early evening. They expect no more than 1/10th of an inch of rain between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. The heavier rain, they predict, will be north and west of Lewes. Temperatures are expected to be in the high 40s to low 50s.
The parade is set to step off at 5 p.m., heading toward the beach on Savannah Road before turning onto Second Street.
