Greene Turtle Restaurant and Sports Bar in Lewes will sponsor the 11th Annual Harry K Foundation 5K at 8 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 4. A 1-mile noncompetitive walk and a kiddie run will begin at 8:15 a.m.
Greene Turtle owner Bill Frankis said, "The Greene Turtle shares in the foundation’s vision of no child going hungry. We are beyond pleased that we can help."
Harry Keswani established the Harry K Foundation in 2013 and people have responded very positively, knowing the importance of accomplishing its mission for children.
The foundation has opened over 40 pantries statewide. It provides more than 650 backpacks every Friday during the school year to meet the weekend food needs of hungry children and helps support the needs of infants through the baby pantry in Rehoboth.
More than 4,000 children were served last year through the grab and go summer program. "No child should know the pain of hunger,” said Keswani.
