Grotto Pizza to phase out plastic straws at all locations

July 28, 2018

Grotto Pizza has stopped offering plastic straws to guests and only provides them upon request. In an effort to help minimize the impact on the environment and sea life, this is the first step.

Grotto Pizza is looking into other options, including paper straws, to completely remove plastic straws from the restaurants. More than 500 million plastic straws are used every day in the United States.

Jeff Gosnear, vice president of Grotto Pizza, said, “This is a step we needed to take. We are one of the largest restaurant groups in the area. This will reduce the amount of plastic straws in our restaurants by over 15 million a year.”
