Habitat event a success thanks to Realtors

April 5, 2022

I am writing to thank and extend appreciation to the greater Sussex County Realtor community and St. Jude’s parish. On March 10, 24 volunteer chefs came together in support of our own Sussex County Habitat for Humanity at St. Jude's Parish Center in Lewes. These remarkable volunteers – all local Realtors – donated their time, energy and, most importantly, their culinary talents. The “Look Who's Cooking: Sussex County Challenge” event convened Realtors and members of the public raising more than $19,000 to support Habitat’s vision where everyone has a decent place to live. Our volunteer chefs prepared and fed an array of fabulous appetizers, entrees and desserts to 250 attendees – 90 percent who had never attended a prior Habitat for Humanity event. To all our new friends, we appreciate your support and hope to see you again soon. To all our chefs and event sponsors, thank you for your generosity. You are truly special people.
