Sussex County Habitat for Humanity welcomed members of the local business community and Georgetown Chamber of Commerce to the Sussex County Habitat ReStore July 15 for a Business After Hours event. Guests had an opportunity to connect, learn about Habitat's mission and get an exclusive first look at the future of the organization through its Home for Habitat capital campaign.

During the evening, attendees heard updates on the expansion project that will transform the ReStore and affiliate office into a larger, more efficient campus capable of serving even more families throughout Sussex County. The project is scheduled to break ground later in July.

The new facility will feature expanded retail and office space, allowing increased capacity for donations, improved operational areas and enhanced space to support Habitat's growing programs and services.

"The Home for Habitat campaign represents an investment not only in our organization, but in the future of affordable homeownership throughout Sussex County," said Kevin Gilmore, Sussex County Habitat for Humanity CEO. "By expanding our ReStore and operational space, we'll be able to generate additional funding for our mission, serve more shoppers and donors, and ultimately build and repair more homes for families in our community."

Revenue generated through the Sussex County Habitat ReStore directly supports the affiliate's mission of building and preserving affordable homeownership opportunities throughout Sussex County. The annual proceeds the ReStore brings in allow the organization to build two additional houses.
