Harry C. Davis III, avid snow-skier

Harry C. Davis III, “Brud,” 88, of Bridgeville, passed away Monday, Nov. 29, 2021, at his home. He was born May 28, 1933, in Milford, son of the late Harry C. II and Elsie Davis.

Brud attended Duke University in Durham, N.C. He owned and operated HC Davis Co. in Bridgeville for 70 years. Brud was an avid snow-skier. Certified as an instructor in both the U.S. and Canada, he taught Alpine skiing and ran a ski school in Elk Mountain, Pa. Brud was a faithful member of Union United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir, a Son of the American Revolution, and a life member of the Bridgeville Kiwanis Club. One to never have idle hands, he was a skilled wood carver and basket weaver. Brud stayed active, even into old age, by playing tennis, golfing and cycling. He was an enthusiastic dancer who cut a rug at every given opportunity. Above all, Brud cherished time spent with those he held most dear. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, who was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who had the good fortune to know him.

In addition to his parents, Brud was preceded in death by his son, Hank Davis; and his daughter, Jennifer Sara Davis, who passed just four weeks ago. He is survived by his beloved wife, Wanda Davis; his children: Kelly Davis and Matt Davis; his grandsons: Patrick Davis and William Davis; and his granddaughter, Sara Davis.

Services are private. Arrangements have been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, Bridgeville.
