Harry David Ritchie Jr., Coast Guard Auxiliary member

Harry David Ritchie Jr., 79, of Millville, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 1,  2019, at home surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Harry was born July 18, 1940, in Wilmington to the late Harry David Ritchie Sr. and Grace Rosebush. Harry is survived by his sisters Mary Meekins and Dorothy Avallone, and brother Johnny Ritchie. Harry was preceded in death by his brothers Jimmy, Howard and Daniel (Lucky) Ritchie.

Harry is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Linda Spear Ritchie. Harry and Linda had four children: David (Linda) Ritchie, Steven (Michelle) Ritchie, Brian Ritchie and Heather (Wes) Barnes; eight loving grandchildren: Zachary, Alexis, Bailey, John, Catie, Erin, Abigail and Tiffany; two great-grandchildren; Jaxon and Lorelai; and many loving extended family members.

Harry worked for H.W. Booker, Phoenix Steel and then Peninsula Masonry until retirement. Harry was also a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary.

Harry was a beloved member and handyman of Bethel Tabernacle in Frankford. He was an avid NASCAR fan, Phillies fan, crabber, loved Lowe’s trips and well known for tinkering in his garage, and especially being a loving pop pop.

Harry will be missed by many, as he made an impact on many lives and made a friend where ever he went.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Seasons Hospice in memory of Harry Ritchie.

Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 2,  at noon, at Bethel Tabernacle Church, 34190 Omar Road, Frankford.
