The Harry K Foundation was recently awarded a $10,000 grant from the Captrust Community Foundation. The grant was presented to Harry Keswani, foundation founder and president, by Catherine Seeber, Captrust principal and local financial adviser.
As part of its annual giving day campaign, Captrust selected 81 children’s organizations nationwide to receive support, with a total of $810,000 distributed across the country.
Keswani established the Harry K Foundation to help combat food insecurity for children in Delaware by providing support to those who are often left without meals outside of school hours.
Based in Rehoboth Beach, the foundation now supports 56 pantries statewide, and its backpack program provides more than 1,000 children with nonperishable food for weekends, holidays and summer breaks.
It also provides monthly nutrition and diapers for 200 infants and toddlers through the Community Resource Center baby pantry in Rehoboth Beach.
