Heidi Lowe Gallery to offer jewelry-making classes Aug. 12

Heidi Lowe Gallery will offer a rings class from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and a mantra bracelet class from 2 to 4:40 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 12, at Heidi Lowe Studio.

The rings class is an introductory metal-smithing class. Each student will make a ring out of sterling silver and wear it home that day.

A mantra is an encouraging phrase or word repeated, oftentimes in meditation or prayer, to increase concentration. The mantra bracelet class is a basic metal-smithing class. Participants will learn to texture, cut, file and form metal to make a sterling silver bracelet that helps wearers set their mantras to help them focus. Each student will create a unique piece of jewelry to wear home.

“Mantra bracelets are a fun way to remind you of your intention for the year, or to find a new one,” said Lowe.

Registration is open to anyone over 13, and the cost is $100 per person plus a materials fee of $10 for the ring class or $30 for the mantra bracelet class.
