Heidi Lowe Gallery to offer metalsmithing classes Aug. 19

Heidi Lowe Gallery will offer two metalsmithing classes Wednesday, Aug. 19.

A rings class is set for 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Students create a gift for themselves or for someone special. Participants will learn the basics of ring-making such as sawing, filing and soldering. No two rings are alike as each student will personalize their ring to their liking. Cost is $110. 

An overlay ring class is set for 2 to 4:30 p.m. In this class, each student will design their own ring. Then they will be taught to hand-cut each design in sterling silver. Students will learn to solder, file, sand and polish their rings.

Both classes are fun for beginners and instructors teach everything participants need to know.

Heidi Lowe Gallery in Rehoboth Beach is under construction at the moment. Heidi Lowe can be found at her temporary studio space at 17522 Ward Ave., Lewes The space is open by appointment.

“I am excited to be having classes in my temporary space at 5 Points. It’s a great studio space with lots of light and creative energy,” said Lowe.
