Helen J. Brittingham, loved her family

Helen J. “Jeannie” Brittingham, 78, of Milford, passed away peacefully Monday, Dec. 5, 2022, with her family and caregivers by her side. Helen, fondly known as Jeannie, was born March 9, 1944, in Milford, daughter of the late William and Hilda (Joseph) Pettyjohn.

Jeannie previously worked for Leggett’s Department Store as a sales clerk. Jeannie loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed eating out, shopping and spending time visiting with friends. She was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Willard E. Tyndall of Milton; her husband of 12 years, Russell Brittingham of Milford, her brother, Arthur Pettyjohn; and her son, Tracy E. Tyndall. Jeannie is survived by her son, William L. Tyndall (Susan); her sister, Barbara Manship (Martin); and brother, Eddie Pettyjohn (Kelly). She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Taylor (Ryan), Sommer, Kristine, and Hunter; two great-grandchildren; her longtime friend, Cheryl Ward; and many other family members and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 13, at Short Funeral Services chapel, 416 Federal St., Milton.  A time of visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, Dec. 12. Interment will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Milton.
