Highmark donates back-to-school toolkits to Delaware districts

September 6, 2020

Highmark Inc. is helping schools navigate the new, uncharted school year by donating back-to-school toolkits containing personal protective equipment and resources to school districts across Delaware and Pennsylvania.

School districts in Delaware will receive adjustable face coverings to fit a wide student age range, face shields for teachers and staff members, disinfectant hand wipes, one-gallon pump containers of hand sanitizer, signage outlining best practices, and resource guides to assist with the transition to the new school year, courtesy of Highmark. Signage and resource guides are also available to the general public at no charge on the Highmark Employer Back-to-School Toolkit website. School districts eligible to request kits will be contacted and given the option to schedule when and where they receive the kits to align with their individual reopening plans.

“Capital School District is grateful for Highmark Delaware’s support and their provision of PPE supplies for our students and staff. As we enter into this school year in a completely new way, it is great to know we have the support of our community and business partners,” said Dr. Sylvia Henderson, superintendent of Capital School District.

Adam Knox, regional vice president, head of commercial business for Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield Delaware, said, “Highmark Delaware is committed to its members and the community, and we hope that these PPE kits, along with other resources we are making available, will help ensure everyone’s safety and health.”
