Historic Lewes Farmers Market to celebrate Halloween Oct. 31

October 28, 2020

The Historic Lewes Farmers Market will celebrate Halloween from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Oct. 31. Customers are welcome to attend in costume, as long as they wear masks that meet COVID-19 protocols.

The fall market will continue through Nov. 21, the Saturday before Thanksgiving, at Richard Shields Elementary School parking lot in Lewes.

The market has 24 vendors offering fall favorites: carrots, peppers, lettuces, broccoli, cabbage, kales, sweet potatoes, ginger, winter squashes, apples, kombucha, cider, mushrooms, chicken, pork, fresh-laid eggs, live blue crabs, breads, jams and jellies, mustards, apple and pumpkin butters, pastries, honey, salads, soups and flower bouquets.

Customers can email info@historiclewesfarmersmarket.org to receive the market newsletter and see specific listings of what’s available by vendor. The market continues its SNAP program and matches up to $20 each participant each week with HLFM Bonus Bucks. Customers can learn more at the SNAP tent next to the market trailer.

The market continues its partnership with Epworth United Methodist Church Food Pantry. Customers may purchase local produce, meats, milk, and other items for donation to the Epworth food pantry after the market closes. It’s a challenging time for many, and this is a good way to get nutritious, local food to community members in need. Market organizers thank customers for their generosity.
