Historic Lewes Farmers Market set May 19 at Shields

May 16, 2018

The Historic Lewes Farmers Market returns Saturday, May 19, from 8 a.m. to noon, at Shields Elementary School parking lot.
The Historic Lewes Farmers Market is open rain or shine, and due to the expected rain this Saturday the market will move for only this Saturday to the parking lot at Shields Elementary School, with 34 vendors bringing large local strawberries, rhubarb, asparagus, lettuces, arugula, spinach, carrots, eggs, cheese, yogurt, milk, grass-fed pork, beef, and lamb, fresh oysters, and much more.

This year, the market continues its SNAP (EBT Food Stamps) program. To help lower economic barriers to local, healthy food, the HLFM matches up to $20 each participant each week with HLFM Bonus Bucks. SNAP participants are encouraged to come to the SNAP tent at the market to pick up the bonus $20 in tokens to use at the market. WIC will also be accepted at the market starting in June.

Ample parking can be found at the Shields Elementary School and Lewes School parking lots at the intersection of Savannah Road and Sussex Drive.
