Historical marker found

October 9, 2019

Turns out a historical marker at Sand Hill Church near Milton that was thought to have been stolen, was out for repair.

A church official reported the marker stolen, but the marker was removed by the Delaware Public Archives for repair, said Katie Hall, historical markers program coordinator for Delaware Public Archives.

“Earlier this summer, a constituent reached out to the archives and a state legislator because the paint on the historical marker was badly faded. The marker has been removed so that it can be refurbished, and the marker will be reinstalled once the repair work is completed,” she said.
