The Historic Lewes Farmers Market will celebrate the opening day for its Wednesday Market from 8 to 11:30 a.m., June 3, at Crooked Hammock Brewery, 36707 Crooked Hammock Way, Lewes.
For the mid-week market, 16 farmers and producers will bring strawberries, spinach, arugula, fresh-cut asparagus, lettuces, kale, turnips, radishes, honey, mushrooms, grass-fed beef and beef jerky, pork, lamb, eggs, herb, vegetable and flower plants, fresh-baked breads, pastries cut-flower bouquets and more.
The HLFM is producer-only, so customers connect directly with the farmer who grew the produce and raised the animals.
New Wednesday Market vendors include Carey Apiary and Farm from Frankford with local raw honey and handcrafted beeswax products as well as GW’s Garden Goods from Lewes, with seasonal arrangements of fresh flowers. New to both Saturday and Wednesday Markets this year is Grahams Farm & Produce and G’s DElights.
Vendors Brittingham Farms, Caribe Locavore Farm, Enoch Farms and Reid Angus will now be at the Wednesday market as well, joining the returning Anya’s Homestead, Bennett Orchards, Cosmic Dog Farm, Cross Farms, Davidson’s Exotic Mushrooms, Dittmar Family Farms, Kalmar Farm, and Old World Breads.
Patrons should note that dogs and other pets (except for service animals) are not permitted inside the market to ensure the safety of customers, vendors and volunteers.
For a list of all vendors, their contact information and whether they take preorders, go to historiclewesfarmersmarket.org. Customers will pick up preorders at the vendor tent in the market.
The market processes payments from Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program, and Women, Infants and Children Program benefits, and continues to match SNAP up to $20 per market, per customer. Customers may go to the SNAP tent to process SNAP/EBT.
Go to historiclewesfarmersmarket.org to see vendor information with maps. The market’s weekly newsletter lists demos and more; email info@historiclewesfarmersmarket.org to ask to be added to the list.
The HLFM thanks Crooked Hammock Brewery for sponsoring the Wednesday Market.
