A Hockessin man faces burglary and theft charges after police said he stole an HVAC furnace from a Lewes home.

Police responded at 5:42 a.m. Nov. 8 to a home under construction in the 31000 block of Carvel Road for a burglary complaint, and found that someone had removed an HVAC furnace from inside the home’s garage, said Sr. Cpl. Jason Hatchell of the Delaware State Police.

Police determined Christopher Sarver, 39, was the suspect, Hatchell said, and they took him into custody at his Hockessin home. The HVAC furnace has not been recovered at this time, he said.

Sarver was transported to Troop 2 where he was charged with felony third-degree burglary, felony theft $1,500 or greater, and selling stolen property over $1,500.

Sarver was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on his own recognizance.
