Holiday bazaar at Lewes Senior Center slated Nov. 2

For early holiday shopping, the Lewes Senior Activity Center will host its holiday bazaar from 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Nov. 2. Breakfast will be served from 8 to 10 a.m., and lunch will be served from 10 a.m. to noon.

Attendees will find one-of-a-kind gifts and holiday decorations for family and friends, crafted by senior center members, local artisans and craftsman. Shoppers may choose from hand-knit sweaters, afghans and baby clothes; children’s toys; homemade placemats; quilted bags; wreaths; holiday decorations; and hand-painted ceramics including Santas, Christmas trees and ornaments.

The bazaar will also offer a 50/50 raffle as well as a bake sale featuring homemade cookies, cakes and pies made by center members.

Tables are available to rent for $20. For more information for craft vendors, call 302-645-9293.

Proceeds from the raffle, bake sale, breakfast and rental of tables will go to support the center’s programming and operations.

Located at 32083 Janice Road in Lewes, the center promotes health and wellness for individuals 50 or older by offering fitness and exercise classes, arts and crafts classes, social get togethers, affordable travel, and community service opportunities for its members. Classes and activities currently offered include yoga, tai chi, balance and strength training, walk aerobics, line dancing, Zumba, ceramics, penny bingo, jackpot bingo and games including Mahjong, Canasta, Pinochle and Scrabble.
