Holiday stroll to benefit Oak Orchard Boys & Girls Club Dec. 11

December 1, 2021

The Long Neck Sunrise Rotary Club and Silicato Development will hold a Long Neck community holiday stroll from 3 to 6 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 11, at the Taormina Square shopping center on Route 24 at Silicato Drive in Long Neck. Proceeds will benefit the Oak Orchard Boys & Girls Club children’s Christmas party.

In an open house environment, the retail shops and restaurants at Taormina Square will provide complimentary food samples and product offerings. Visitors are encouraged to provide a $10 donation per family which will be given to the Oak Orchard Boys & Girls Club to fund its children’s holiday party. Boxes for donations will be positioned at tables along Silicato Drive.

“Long Neck Sunrise Rotary Club and Silicato Development have a long history of supporting the Oak Orchard Boys & Girls Club,” said Barry Henry, Long Neck Sunrise Rotary business connections committee chair. “We hope this event will foster a true sense of community in the region while offering the shops and restaurants recovering from the COVID pandemic an opportunity to showcase their wares – all in the name of a good cause.”

Restaurants and shops participating include Brick Works, Two Meatballs, Yellowfins, Taste of the South, Maggie’s Pet Boutique, Blooming Boutique, Nails at Taormina, My Ceramics, Vogue on 24 and Bayside Gifts.

“We are happy to work with Long Neck Sunrise Rotary Club in support of the Oak Orchard Boys & Girls Club,” said Nicole Silicato-Miller, vice president of Silicato Development. “The stroll is such a wonderful way to get in the holiday spirit of giving and make a difference to the children.”

Long Neck Sunrise Rotary Club meets weekly in person for breakfast at 7:30 a.m., Tuesdays at Ocean Grill II on Long Neck Road, and it also meets virtually. Visitors are welcome. To learn more, go to longnecksunriserotaryclub.com.
