Holiday tastings event at Brush Factory Nov. 14

November 11, 2020

The Brush Factory on Kings will ring in holiday shopping with a tastings event with live music from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 14.

The year 2020 in the Cape Region is shaping up to be an atypical holiday shopping season. Many consumers plan to shop early, support local businesses and limit their number of trips.

In light of these trends, The Brush Factory is working to enhance the shopping experience for their loyal customers with a number of special events.

The Nov. 14 event includes complimentary samplings from Lewes-based roastery Swell Joe Coffee and Soberdough Brew Bread. Local musician Ed Shockley of the Funsters will be on hand to bring his homespun sound to the festivities.

In addition to the food and music, nearly all of the 60 unique specialty shops’ vendors are decked out with holiday-themed home decor and one-of-a-kind gifts.

“We love hearing the reaction of our shoppers when they discover something that speaks to them” said owner Christine Chura. “We are so grateful for the support of our customers during these difficult times, and have worked hard to create a safe and relaxing climate for shopping and just getting out and about. We are excited to mark the start of the holiday season with a special treat.”

Swell Joe Coffee Company is a locally-owned and operated surf-inspired coffee roastery that supplies freshly roasted coffee beans to restaurants, grocers and specialty shops around coastal Delaware. Swell Joe's new holiday gift assortments complement coffee bags and branded gear featured at the Brush Factory.

Soberdough is an artisan bread with no artificial ingredients and comes in many flavors. It’s a quick bread - prepared easily in five minutes, popped in the oven, and then served fresh and hot at the table. It’s designed to be mixed with either a favorite craft beer, club soda or carbonated drink. Produced by the mother/son team of Veronica and Jordan Haughbaker, Soberdough Brew Bread is locally available only at the Brush Factory.

The Brush Factory, open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., (closed Wednesday), is located at 830 Kings Highway in Lewes.. For more information, email brushlewes@gmail.com or call 302-864 7005.
