Heading into the Henlopen Conference Track & Field Championships May 11, the Cape Henlopen 4-by-800 relay team set its sights on breaking the school record of 7:59 set in 1983 at the Dover Relays with the team of Darren Purcell, Hank Stack, James Johnson and Danny Harmon. This year’s team, Trey Leggins, Liam O’Donnell, Ryan Baker and Ben Clifton, ran 8:08 to win the event and set a new Henlopen Conference meet record.
Baker later won the open 3,200 meters. On the second day of competition, Baker is scheduled to run the 1,600 and 800.
