With the goal of helping small business owners in Delaware and Maryland navigate a multitude of challenges in the 21st century workplace, two of Sussex County’s leading human resource professionals are launching an innovative new business endeavor.

Led by the joint talents of Ruth Briggs King and Maribeth Dockety, Workforce Solutions Today will provide real-time assistance in addressing challenges that face small business owners in Delaware, as well as neighboring counties in Maryland.

King and Dockety promise a hands-on approach to addressing very real issues in a workplace that is collectively changing as the third decade of the 21st century begins.

“There’s a constant change happening at several different levels of government, and new regulations being adopted that small business owners certainly need to be aware of,” said King, who is in her fifth term representing the 37th District in the Delaware House of Representatives. “We’re well versed on these evolving rules and regulations, and can ensure that companies are in compliance, and therefore not liable for any fines or other penalties.”

Workforce Solutions Today can also help companies adopt dress codes, develop employee relations manuals and create codes of conduct in relation to anti-discrimination, sexual harassment and other daily issues in the workplace.

King and Dockety have more than 50 years of relevant workplace experience between them and are both pillars of their southern Delaware communities.

They boast a history of teaching, a legacy of learning and a reputation for successful results. They can develop formal leadership training programs and classes for small to medium-sized businesses on the Delmarva Peninsula, and nearby towns and municipalities.

“Ruth and I are excited to be embarking on this new endeavor, especially here in the area where we and our families have called home for generations,” said Dockety, the former human resources director at Delaware Technical Community College Owens Campus. “We’re excited to get started, and we look forward to many years of success helping Delaware and Maryland’s small business community.”

Other areas of focus for Workforce Solutions Today include performance evaluations, conflict resolution, training and development, time management, organization management and complaint response.
