The Insight Meditation Community of Lewes will welcome returning meditation teacher Larissa Kitenko for two hybrid events Friday and Saturday, June 5 and 6.
A Dharma Talk on Buddhist teachings, “Buddhism in Everyday Life – Living the Dharma,” followed by discussion, will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m., June 5. A full-day retreat with the theme of Holding On and Letting Go will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., June 6; it will include sitting and walking meditation, a Dharma Talk and discussion.
The events will be available both via Zoom and in person at St. Peter’s Community Hall, 211 Mulberry St., Lewes. All are welcome to attend. Participants should specify in-person or virtual attendance when signing up at imc-lewes.org.
Kitenko is a longtime practitioner of insight meditation, studying and practicing Buddhism in the Theravadan tradition. She has completed the Community Dharma Leader-4 Program and the Dedicated Practitioner Program at Spirit Rock Meditation Center in California. She has trained with Jon Kabat-Zinn and has been teaching Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction since 2005. She leads workshops and retreats throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
In-person retreat participants should bring a bag lunch/snacks. Chairs are provided, but attendees may bring their favorite floor mediation cushions.
