Georgetown tears down the whipping post, but supports Confederate monuments on taxpayers’ dollars. This recent action is not only schizophrenic, but cowardly. I do not know of any other country that pays tribute to traitors and promoters of the lost cause. It is time for those who support the Confederacy to remember those states lost the war and are part of the United States, not a separate territory or country. Apparently, for whatever reasons, die-hard Confederates believe the cause of the Civil War, despite the Union victory, should still survive.
For those among the oppressed, imagine this country if victory had been reversed.
