Jabriell Brontez Smith, jack-of-all-trades

Jabriell Brontez Smith, 23, of Millsboro was born June 4, 1995, to the late Keywine Robert West and Kineta Tasha Smith. He departed this life Monday, May 27, 2019, after a motorcycle tragedy.

Jabriell started his education at Phillip C. Showell Elementary School and then Long Neck Elementary School. He graduated from Sussex Central High School in 2014.  

Jabriell was good at drawing, writing poems, skateboarding and riding bikes. Since Jabriell was 3 years old, he loved Hot Wheel cars, so he starting cleaning people's tires, and as he grew up he started working on cars. Jabriell was a jack-of-all-trades but a master-of-none. Jabriell's mother gave him the nickname, Monkey because he would climb on everything and jump off with no fear.  Pop-pop Terry and his Uncle Huck gave him the nickname, Bridaddy, because he was a cool little fella. 

When he was a little baby, he attended St. John 2nd Baptist Church in Millsboro, and enjoyed going to Sunday School and Vacation Bible School in the summertime. He loved singing with his Pop-Pop. One of his favorite songs was "When You See Me Walking Right." Jabriell would not sugarcoat his words, but would help anybody no matter what their needs were.

Jabriell was preceded in death by his brother, Justin West; grandfather, Danny Andrews; father, Keywine Robert West; great-grandmother, Grace Andrews; great-great-grandmother, Dorothy Kelly; and two uncles, Gifford Hopkins and Fred Hopkins

Jabriell leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Kineta Tasha Smith; one brother, Nasir Horsey; cousin/sister Samira Smith; one sister, Neavah West; one daughter, Briella Smith; one son, Brayden Smith; his mom-mom, Annette Nock; pop-pop, Valentino Terry Nock; great-grandmother, Rosalie Handy; great-grandmother, Bernice West; grandmother, Brenda Johnson; and a host of aunts, Caroletta Marshall, Vanessa Hagans, Tracy Hilliard, Carolyn Bailey, Chasity West, Dale Shockley, Jana Mallory and Violet Hopkins; and uncles, Karmikus Smith, Termaine Belote, Keith West, Towan Mallory, Ernest Shockley, Billy Andrews and Gary Andrews; his faithful dog, Diesel; and a host of family and friends who love him dearly.  

Celebration of life service will be held at noon, Saturday, June 8, at St. John 2nd Baptist Church, 26602 Mt. Joy Road, Millsboro. Family and friends may visit two hours prior to the service. Professional service entrusted to Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Millsboro.
