Jackson will be a breath of fresh air for Cape

May 10, 2019

I am writing this letter to endorse Calvin Jackson for Cape Henlopen school board. Calvin will be a breath of fresh air for the school board. He will work hard to create an atmosphere of excellent two-way communications between the board and parents, and the board and students.

I have worked very closely with Calvin at the Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice. He is the go-to man for the Communications and Social Media Committee, as well as many other areas. He not only has the expertise necessary to do what’s needed, but he also has a wonderful attitude and offers his assistance whenever needed.

His background in communications and especially in mentoring will only bring positive changes to the way the school board functions. We know that change comes slowly, and Calvin is the man to look at the current situation, dig in, and get started working to see what can be done to begin the change process needed at Cape.

In particular, he will work on things such as creating additional diversity, better student outcomes, working to bridge the achievement gap, as well as the communications gaps that exist currently. A fresh outlook will be beneficial to the Cape Henlopen Board of Education, and Calvin Jackson has the experience, attitude, energy, fortitude, and dedication to bring that outlook to the job!

I will definitely be voting for Calvin Jackson for Cape Henlopen school board on May 14, and I surely hope you will too.
