James Ferro, a giving soul

August 8, 2018

James Ferro, 58, of Lewes, passed away Monday, Aug. 6, 2018, at his home. He was born Aug. 15, 1959, in Wilmington, son of the late James and Kathleen Ferro.

Mr. Ferro worked in Wilmington in printing sales before establishing a variety of careers in sales, cars and pest control that would last throughout his lifetime. He was very active in the AA community, and took great pride and joy in helping people. A giving soul by nature, Mr. Ferro would help anyone in need, in any way he could. He was an excellent photographer and an avid reader. His amazing sense of humor made him forever the jokester, pulling pranks and making people laugh. Mr. Ferro always had a home on the water, enabling his love for fishing, crabbing, and all things to do with the sea. More than anything, however, he cherished the time spent with his family; especially his beloved grandchildren. Mr. Ferro was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Ferro is survived by his son, Kyle Harrigan-Ferro and his wife Jami of Lewes; his three grandchildren; and his sisters: Darlene Richardson and her husband Roger of Bear, Kathleen Petchel of Bear, and Annette Willey and her husband Michael of Clayton.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Aug. 11, at 11 a.m., at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may call beginning at 9 a.m.
Burial will follow the services at Bethel Methodist Cemetery, Savannah Road, Lewes.
