James I. Weeks Jr. of Palm Bay, Fla., formerly of Milford, passed away Friday, Oct. 7, 2022, while under hospice care from a rare form of Merkel cell carcinoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents James I. Weeks Sr. and Mary S. Porter; and his loving wife Carol Mumford Weeks. His beloved dog, Orchid, passed away shortly after him. James is survived by his sister, Mary W. McDowell (Penny); his three children, James L. Weeks (Judy) of Dover, Deborah C. Weeks of Palm Bay, Fla., and Paul L. Weeks (Susie) of Magnolia; four grandchildren, Kristen, Michelle (Jeff), Heather and Zachary, all of Delaware. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and -nephews. He had a special place in his heart for two young men whom he loved like grandchildren, Joshua and Sean Coveleski.
There will be a Celebration of Life service at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 18, at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 1120 Darley Road, Wilmington.
