James Marvel, Water’s Edge member

James Marvel, 85, of Milton passed away at home Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019.  He was born in Milton to George C. and Ruth E. (nee Williams) Marvel June 4, 1933.

James served his country with the U.S. Navy.  He worked for Charles Shaid of Philadelphia, Pa., as a construction painter, and was a member of the Painters Local Union.  He was a Philadelphia Eagles fan.  James enjoyed being surrounded by his loving family.  He was a member of The Water’s Edge Milton Campus.  

He is survived by his wife, Barbara (nee Ridington) Marvel; daughter, Stacy Shaffer and her husband Glen; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved granddog, Ruff.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton, Wednesday, Feb. 13, at 1 p.m.  A time of visitation will begin at 11 a.m.  Interment will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milton.
