James Wilson Ritenour, retired manager

James Wilson Ritenour, 83, of Millsboro, formerly of Laurel, Md., passed away peacefully with his wife by his side Monday, Sept. 16, 2019, in the comfort of his home.

Jim was born in Woodstock, Va., May 9, 1936, son of the late Robert Lee Ritenour and the late Lona Elaine (Rhinehart) Ritenour.  He worked as a general manager for Coca-Cola in Annapolis, Md., before his retirement in 2000 with 27 years of service.

Jim was a member of the Elks Lodge 2540 in Lewes, the Indian River Yacht Club and the Sons of the American Legion.  He loved boating, fishing, photography, taking trips to Florida and spending time with his wife.  Jim will be remembered for his fun and loving personality, along with his devotion to his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Russell Rowe Jr.  Jim is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Mary Anne (Barrett) Ritenour; his five children, James Ritenour Jr. (Suzanne) of Palm Bay, Fla., Bonnie Newman (Criss Landwehr) of Melbourne, Fla., Jacque Rowe of Taneytown, Md., Debbie DeLore (Steve) of New Market, Md., and Russell Rowe of Millsboro; three grandchildren, Samantha Noel (Victor) of New Market, Marissa Perkins of Columbia, Md., and Ryan DeLore of Germantown, Md.; and five great-grandchildren, Kylie Jackson, Henry Noel, Cline Noel, Robbie Perkins and Owen Perkins.

A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon, Thursday, Sept. 19, at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Road, Millsboro, where a service to celebrate Jim’s life will begin at noon. Interment is private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Jim’s name to VITAS Hospice, 100 Commerce Drive, Suite 302, Newark, DE 19713, or Easterseals, 22317 Dupont Blvd., Georgetown, DE 19947.
