James ‘Jimmy’ Malloy, the produce man

James “Jimmy” Malloy, 73, of Millsboro was born April 6, 1947, to the late Joseph and Delsie Malloy in Laurel.

James received his education at the Paul Laurence Dunbar School in Laurel. James was known by his family and friends as "Jimmy.” Jimmy loved being outdoors. He loved fishing, crabbing, gardening and selling his produce. You would often see him around town or at the Christian Storehouse selling his produce.

Jimmy never met a stranger. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone. He loved to spend time fishing with his brothers and nephews. Most of all he enjoyed cooking meals and spending time with the love of his life, Demita.

In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his brother, Frank Malloy; sisters, Carolyn Bailey and Juliet Malloy; brother-in-law Raymond Sample; and sister-in-law Willie Mae Malloy.

James leaves to cherish his memories, son Arron Bell; sisters Doris Sample, Sarah, Juanita and Carrie Malloy; brothers Joseph and Keith (Nora) Malloy; uncle Clifford Horsey; fiancée Demita  Parker and family; granddaughter Arriona Bell; a special friend, Robert Dunham; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and special nieces Donyel Cook and Armani Hall.

Celebration of life service will be held from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, May 30, at St. John 2nd Baptist Church, 26602 Mt. Joy Road, Millsboro.
