Wilmington attorney Jason C. Jowers, of the law firm Morris James LLP, has been selected as a fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America. Jowers is the vice chair of the Corporate and Commercial Litigation Group at Morris James.  A 2000 graduate of Rhodes College, Jowers received his Juris Doctor degree from The George Washington University School of Law in 2003.  Jowers' practice focuses on corporate, alternative entity, and commercial litigation.

He primarily represents members and managers of LLCs, officers and directors of corporations, and companies in high-stakes litigation in the Delaware Court of Chancery, Delaware Superior Court, Delaware Supreme Court, and United States District Court for the District of Delaware. He has led litigation teams in disputes involving mergers and acquisitions, corporate and LLC control issues, judicial dissolution, and complex commercial arrangements.

The LCA is a trial lawyer honorary society composed of less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers. Fellowship in the LCA is highly selective and by invitation only. Fellows are selected based upon excellence and accomplishment in litigation, both at the trial and appellate levels, and superior ethical reputation. The LCA is aggressively diverse in its composition. Established as a trial and appellate lawyer honorary society reflecting the American bar in the twenty-first century, the LCA represents the best in law among its membership.

The number of Fellowships has been kept at an exclusive limit by design, allowing qualifications, diversity and inclusion to align effectively, with recognition of excellence in litigation across all segments of the bar. Fellows are generally at the partner or shareholder level, or are independent practitioners with recognized experience and accomplishment. In addition, the LCA is dedicated to promoting superior advocacy, professionalism and ethical standards among its Fellows.  Jowers is also active in The Food Bank of Delaware, where he serves on the board, and is chairman of the Delaware High School Mock Trial Competition.

For over 85 years, Morris James has been serving the needs of its clients such as Fortune 500 companies, financial institutions, government agencies, law firms, and the community.  With over 65 lawyers and six offices, attorneys work together across legal disciplines and use the depth of their collective knowledge of Delaware law with daily experiences in Delaware courts to provide clients with creative solutions and outstanding service.
