Jeanne H. Larned, treasured family

Jeanne H. Larned, 97, of Lewes, passed away Friday, Jan. 13, 2023, at The Moorings at Lewes. She was born June 24, 1925, in Jersey City, N.J., daughter of the late Dewey and Ruth (Anthony) Hagen.

Jeanne obtained a bachelor’s degree from Drew University in 1946. She worked as a secretary for Duke University in the chemistry department, as well as for CIBA. Jeanne married the love of her life, George H. Larned, March 20, 1948, and together they raised their beautiful family. She was an avid stitcher and longtime member of the Bergen County, N.J., Embroiderer’s Guild of America. She truly treasured time spent with her family and grandkids above all. Jeanne was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Loved by many, she will be forever missed by all who had the good fortune to know her.

In addition to her parents, Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, George H. Larned. She is survived by her daughters: Carol L. Campman (Steve) of Denville, N.J., and Cynthia L. Winkler (Ed) of Lewes; her grandchildren: Alexander Campman of Newark, Ohio, Michael Campman of Morristown, N.J., Christina Winkler of Arlington, Va., and Brian Winkler (Molly) of Wilmington; her great-grandchildren: Abbie Campman, Trey Campman and Malcom Campman of Newark, Ohio, and Raelyn Winkler of Wilmington; her nephews: Richard Larned (Karen) of Ogdensburg, N.J., Lawrence Powers (Sara) of Middlefield, Conn., Vicki Machback (Glenn) of Southbury, Conn., and Kim Wilhelm (Gary) of Milford, Conn.

Memorial services will be announced at a later date.

Final care for Jeanne has been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
