Jimmie Allen performance to benefit Heacook family

Cape grad to play acoustic show Monday, May 10 at Bottle & Cork

Country music artist and Cape Henlopen High School graduate Jimmie Allen has announced he will play an acoustic show Monday, May 10, to benefit the family of fallen Delmar Police Cpl. Keith Heacook. 

The show at the Bottle & Cork in Dewey Beach will begin at 7 p.m. Admission is $10 at the door. 

“That’s a terrible situation. I’m definitely keeping his family and friends in my prayers,” Allen said in a short video posted to Facebook May 4. “I wish it was a better situation, but we’re going to do what we can to raise money for Officer Heacook’s family.”

Heacook died April 28 as a result of injuries suffered from an attack during a early morning response to a fight at a home on Buckingham Drive in Yorkshire Estates on April 25. 

Randon Wilkerson, 30, of Delmar was arrested. An upcoming grand jury will decide whether to indict Wilkerson on a murder charge.

A full police detail funeral will be held Monday, May 10, at noon, at Emmanuel Wesleyan Church, 217 Beaglin Park Drive, Salisbury, Md. The Rev. Christopher Labarge will officiate. Receiving will be held from 10 a.m. to noon. Interment will be private. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
