Jimmie Allen performs at Sydney’s

60 people enjoy intimate set
October 13, 2020

Rising country music star Jimmie Allen, a 2004 Cape High grad, performed an intimate acoustic set Oct. 9, at Sydney’s Restaurant & Lounge in Paynter's Mill near Milton.

Even though the long set was in a cozy setting, social distancing was followed during the evening. Only 60 tickets were sold to the public.

He performed several of his hits, including “Best Shot,” “Make Me Want To,” “Shallow,” “Slower Lower,” “Back of Your Mind” and more.

“We’d like to send a special thanks to Jimmie for his performance, and we look forward to his return,” said partner Anthony Lewis. “This performance was definitely one of the best we’ve had here at Sydney’s.”

“I’m all about supporting friends and people that have supported me,” said Allen. “One of the owners, Mr. Waples, was my high school principal at Cape. He’s done a lot for so many people for so long; I wanted to give back to him in my own way for all that he has done for others. I’m hoping it drives attention to his business and they flourish. I will do all I can to help.”

Sydney’s will also be participating in the Rehoboth Jazz Festival this coming weekend. Art Sherrod will perform at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 17. This is a free event, but reservations are suggested.
