Joan Emily Peterson, retired educator

Joan Emily Peterson, 81, of Seaford passed away Sunday, June 9, 2019, at her residence. She was born July 12, 1937, in Pennsauken Township, N.J., daughter of the late Raymond and Marion (Colburn) Snyder.

Mrs. Peterson enjoyed a career working with children as director for Wee Friends Preschool. She had many different hobbies, including crafting and collecting lighthouses. Above all, Mrs. Peterson cherished time with those she held most dear. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Peterson was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Peterson; and her son, David Peterson. She is survived by her son, William "Rich" Peterson and his wife Amy of Safety Harbor, Fla.; her granddaughter, Emma Peterson of Safety Harbor; her grandson, Angelo Russo of Clearwater, Fla.; and her daughter-in-law Maidelis Peterson of Seaford.

All services will be private.  Arrangements are being handled by Watson-Yates Funeral Home, a member of the Parsell Funeral Family, Seaford.
