John J. Lauro, former café owner

John J. Lauro, 87, of Millsboro, formerly of Norristown, Pa., passed away peacefully with his wife and close friends by his side Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018, at his home. He was born in Norristown, Pa., March 1, 1931, son of the late Samuel St. and Adaline (Perna) Lauro.

John retired as a tractor trailer driver for Wonder Bread in 1995, and then he and his wife owned and operated the Sunshine Café in Limerick Pa., until 1999.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Samuel Lauro Jr.

John is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Joann (Shoemaker) Lauro; four children; John P. Lauro, Diane M. Lynch, James M. DeCarlo and his wife Dawn, and Darlene M. DeCarlo and her husband Scott Harrison; five siblings, Louise Silvestro, Joseph Lauro and his wife Anna Marie, Rose Hamilton, Maryanne Cagliola and Richard Lauro and his wife Naomi; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in John's name to Vitas Hospice, 100 Commerce Dr., Suite 302, Newark, DE 19713.
