John Scott Quillen, retired teacher

John Scott Quillen, 80, passed away peacefully Friday, Sept. 17, 2021. 

He was born in Lewes Oct. 30, 1940. He leaves behind Barbara, his wife of 59 years, as well as his daughter, Beth Shaw-Woods and Patrick Woods; his son, Brad Scott Quillen and Angela Quillen; four grandchildren, Alexandria, Ashley, Kenna and Kayden; his brother Raymond Quillen and Heidi Quillen; and two nieces, Abbey and Erin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and John Quillen. 

Scott graduated from Lewes High School in 1958. He attended Wesley College and West Virginia Wesleyan College, graduating in 1962. He played football at both colleges and was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity. 

Scott was a loving husband, father, grandfather and educator. He went on to teach high school for 47 years as well as coaching football and basketball.

He will be laid to rest in a small service Monday, Sept. 27, at 11 a.m., in the Remembrance Chapel Mausoleum at the Boca Raton cemetery 451 SW 4th Ave., Boca Raton, FL 33432.
