John W. McMahon, proud Marine Corps veteran

John W. McMahon, 70, of Milton, passed away Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, at his home. He was born Tuesday, Feb. 11, 1947, in Chestnut Hill, Pa., son of the late James and Marian (Hershey) McMahon.

Mr. McMahon was a proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran, having served during the Vietnam War. He was a lifetime member of Disabled Vets, the American Legion, and AmVets. Mr. McMahon owned and operated Alternative Termite & Pest Control until his retirement. He was an avid sportsman who loved hunting, fishing and camping. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Mr. McMahon is survived by his beloved wife, Ruth (Ritter) McMahon; his sons: Sean McMahon (Kathy), and Darin McMahon (Tiffany); his daughter, Olivia Robb; his stepson, Mark Steelman (Liza); his stepdaughter, Michaela Conrad (Jeff); his 13 grandchildren; his brothers: Dan McMahon and Jake McMahon; his sister, Gail Cunningham (John); and his numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Veterans Administration for the care given to Mr. McMahon.

A Chapel Committal Service will be held Monday, Nov. 20, at 1 p.m., at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Lewes.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Mr. McMahon's memory to Home of the Brave Foundation, 6632 Sharps Road, Milford, DE 19963.
