Joseph Bennett Hill, 74, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019, after valiantly battling an illness. Joe was born and raised in Rehoboth Beach. He loved his community and held much pride in being one of the true locals.

Joe graduated from Rehoboth High School, then went on to Wesley College, and returned to work in the family real estate business. Joe spent over 50 years selling properties in his beloved Rehoboth Beach, and was still active in selling real estate until his death. During his tenure as a real estate broker, Joe received the Emeritus Award from the Sussex County Association of Realtors and the Hall of Fame Award from RE/MAX International.

Joe had a vast array of friends and never met a stranger. He loved the beach and spent as much of his free time as possible on Oak Avenue and Deauville Beach. Joe was an avid golfer. He loved socializing with his many friends, especially his breakfast club and his longtime girlfriend, Nora Kirby.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Feb. 16, from 10:30 a.m. through 1 p.m., at Salero Restaurant, 511 N. Boardwalk, which is located at the top of the Henlopen Hotel. Guests are welcome to park in the garage under the hotel.
