Joseph F. Sweeney, forklift mechanic
Joseph F. Sweeney, 90, of Millsboro, formerly of Clifton Heights, Pa., passed away Friday, Aug. 3, 2018, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes.
He was born May 6, 1928, in Philadelphia, Pa., son of the late George and Henrietta Sweeney. Mr. Sweeney retired as a forklift mechanic for Oscar Mayer in Philadelphia after 42 years of service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Denise; and his beloved wife of 62 years, Marie Sweeney in 2013. He is survived by four sons, Joseph Jr., David, Kevin and Jim; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Henrietta Craig and brother, William Sweeney.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 10, at Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church, 30839 Mount Joy Road, Millsboro.
