Joseph H. Kamrad, proud veteran

Joseph H. Kamrad, 72, passed away Friday, Sept. 14, 2018.  Born in Trenton, N.J.,, Mr. Kamrad was a longtime resident of Pennington, N.J.  He worked as supervisor of investigations for the State of New Jersey DMAHS/Human Services, and upon his retirement moved to Lewes.

Mr. Kamrad was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served in the Vietnam War.  He was an active member of the community and coached T-ball, YMCA basketball and Little League baseball.  He was a lifetime member of the Pennington Fire Company, and served as assistant chief.  He was also a member and past commander of the Hopewell Valley American Legion Post 339.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph E. and Katherine M. Kamrad of Pennington, N.J.  He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carole McNamee Kamrad; son Michael Kamrad and his wife Colleen; and his grandsons Declan and Breccan Kamrad.

Services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 19, at 11 a.m., at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, where friends may call from 10 till 11 a.m. for visitation.  Burial follows at Delaware Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro.
