Juan Gabriel Solares, Perdue retiree

Juan Gabriel Solares, 65, of Georgetown passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2020, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes.  He was born in San Raymundo, Guatemala, March 4, 1955, son of the late Mariano Solares  and Maria Santos Tococh. 

Mr. Solares was employed by Perdue Farms in Georgetown in production.  He retired in February after 23 dedicated years of service.  Mr. Solares' interests were many and varied.  He enjoyed sight-seeing, cycling, soccer and reading.  He was also a skilled painter and a collector of model trucks.  Above all, Mr. Solares cherished time spent with those he held most dear.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Solares was preceded in death by his brother, Antonio Solares; and his sisters: Santos Solares and Isabel Solares.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 18 years, Griselda Maribel Vasquez of Georgetown; his son, Kevin Solares of Lincoln;  his daughters: Daisy Solares of Baltimore, Md., and Rosaura Solares of Georgetown; his grandchildren: Jayden Velasquez, Gadiel Velasquez and Isabella Velasquez, all of Georgetown, and Adrian Solares of Lincoln; his brother, Pedro Solares of Guatemala; his sisters: Natalia Solares of Guatemala and Rosa Solares of Maryland; and his dear friends and godparents to his children: Joseph McCarron and Charlotte McCarron.

Services were handled by Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Dodd-Carey Chapel, Georgetown.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE  19958, to help defray funeral costs.
