Judith Ann Walls Hammond, 67, of Lewes passed away Sunday, March 22, 2020. with her husband at her side, holding her hand.  She was born Aug. 9, 1952, in Lewes, daughter of the late William  Sr. and Helen (Meyers) Walls.

Judi earned her bachlor's degree in education from Salisbury State University and her master's degree at Delaware State University.  Teaching was her passion, and the children that she taught touched her heart deeply. She taught elementary school for 32 years, dedicating 27 of those years to Shields Elementary School in Lewes.

Judi was a faithful member of Grace United Methodist Church in Georgetown and was very active at American Legion Lewes Post 17, where she served with the ladies auxiliary and headed the children and youth program.  On June 9, 2001, she married her love, John.  Judi enjoyed camping, going out on the pontoon boat, the beach, vacationing in the Outer Banks, and so much more.

Above all, however, Judi cherished time spent with those she held most dear.  She was a loving and devoted wife, stepmother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  She was loved by many and will be truly missed by all who knew her.

Judi is survived by her beloved husband, John K. Hammond;  her stepsons:  Shane Hammond (Laura) and Zachary Hammond;  her grandchildren:  Sky, Gabby, Kara, and Jaxtin;  her brothers:  Mike Walls and Robert S. Walls Sr. (Jeannie);  her sister, Cyndi Martin (Pat); and her nephew, Mark Walls.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
