Children's Beach House is grateful to Seashore Striders and the team at Jungle Jim's for a generous $2,000 donation raised through the organization's annual 5K event.
The gift was made in memory of former Children's Beach House board member Derrick Lingo, whose commitment to the organization and to the Delaware community continues to be felt today.
The funds will help the beach house continue its work with under-resourced children and youth who have communication challenges, providing opportunities for belonging, supportive relationships and confidence-building experiences.
"We are deeply appreciative to Jungle Jim’s, the Lingo family, Tim Bamforth, and everyone who participated in the 5K," said Rich Garrett, executive director of Children's Beach House. "For many years, Derrick Lingo was a dedicated supporter of Children's Beach House, sharing his time, leadership and passion as a member of the board of trustees. This gift reflects the spirit of generosity and community that he embodied, and we are very grateful for the Lingo family’s strong and loyal support in memory of Derrick."
