Karen Falk named Delmarva development manager at Komen Maryland

Susan G. Komen Maryland, which also serves Kent and Sussex counties in Delaware, has hired Karen Falk as Delmarva development manager.

In this role, Falk will be managing corporate and donor relationships and third-party fundraisers in the Delmarva beach area.

"Karen has a long history of community outreach on the Eastern Shores of Maryland and Delaware and we are thrilled to have her join the Komen Maryland team as we expand our presence in those areas," said Michael Jessup, executive director of Komen Maryland.

A graduate of Towson University with a degree in mass communications and minor in political science, Falk has more than 35 years of marketing and nonprofit management experience, with 20 years on Delmarva. She is a former director of Southern Delaware Tourism and she led marketing and communications for Jack Lingo, Realtor. Most recently Falk worked as a community development consultant for La Vida Hospitality’s Crooked Hammock Brewery and Restaurant to assist with their brand expansion.

Falk is currently a board of trustees member for Children’s Beach House in Lewes. She recently served on the boards of Rehoboth Beach Boys & Girls Club and Cape Henlopen Educational Foundation. She lives in Rehoboth Beach with her husband Jim and two children.
