Kathryn L. Atkins, Stockley Center retiree

Kathryn L. Atkins, 89, of Millsboro passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family Monday, March 15, 2021. She was born April 13, 1931, in Frankford, daughter of the late Carl Morgan and the late Leona (Gray) Morgan. 

She retired as a laundry worker at Stockley Center with 34 years of service. She enjoyed cooking, working in her yard and listening to music. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, George Ross Atkins, who passed away in 1986. Kathryn is survived by her two daughters, Bonnie Atkins and Wanda Calvert of Millsboro; two granddaughters, Angel Mercado and husband (Chris) of Long Neck, Andrea Calvert and fiancé Garrie Morris of Boiling Springs, S.C.; two great-grandchildren: Amanda Adams and fiancé Isaiah of Long Neck, and Eddie Adams of Long Neck; four great-great-grandchildren: Jaden and Amara Florestal of Long Neck, Novah Brisco of Long Neck and Serenity Adams of Laurel; and her brother David Morgan (Louise) of Millsboro. 

A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to noon, Saturday, March 20, followed by a service at noon at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Service, 32013 Long Neck Road, Millsboro. Interment will follow at Millsboro Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 mask will be mandatory and social distancing required.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to VITAS Hospice, 30265 Commerce Dr., Millsboro, DE 19966.
