Kenneth Howard Savage, DP&L retiree

Kenneth Howard Savage, 83, of Asatula, Fla., formerly of Clarksville, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2019.

Ken was born Sept. 3, 1936, in Bishopville, Md., son of the late Ed Savage and the late Dorothy Savage of Fenwick Island. 

Ken graduated from Selbyville High School then he began his career at Delmarva Power & Light, first as a lineman, then as an electrical engineer when he retired in 1995.

Ken loved playing gospel and country music which he did right up until the time he passed. He also loved the Eastern Shore, and the lakes surrounding his home in Florida. He loved the Lord and was involved with his church in Florida playing music for worship, and was a deacon and musician at his church in Ocean View.

Ken will be remembered as a man who was devoted to God and who loved his family and his grandchildren very much. 

Ken was one of 16 brothers and sisters of which he was the oldest male.

In addition to his parents,he was preceded by his sisters Rachel,and Mildred and his brothers David and Edward.

He is survived by his daughter Denise Rivera and her husband Mike Rivera of Milford, and by his son Ken Savage II and his wife Amanda Savage of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; and his five grandchildren Denae, Dylan, Ceira, Payton and Noah; and his sistersMargaret, Marion, Joy, Naomi, Joan, Betty and Evelyn; his brothers Bob, Donald, Tom and Paul. 

A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 14, at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Road, where a memorial service will begin at 11 a.m.
