Kindergarten graduations important too

June 5, 2020

While I am truly happy and excited that the seniors will be able to have their graduations to mark the end of their high school careers, I was informed that unfortunately the children who just started their school careers (kindergarten) will not be able to have their graduations. As of mother of two children who are so close in age, I am deeply saddened by this!

My oldest child will never be able to have this time back while my youngest will more than likely be able to have a graduation next year when completely kindergarten. It is showing favoritism on who in the school system gets what. Kindergarten graduations are just as important as senior graduations! This is marking their first year of being in a new scary exciting journey in their lives just like seniors!

I am not one to complain about things not always being fair but this time I am! This is not fair to our young children and their families! For many families this may be their last child who is starting their school journey! Or maybe their only child! The school district needs to reevaluate the need for kindergarten graduations!
